The intent behind Bill C-293 is to create a domestic legal framework to implement the WHO Pandemic Treaty with the goal of creating a "One Health" system. It would give unilateral control and autonomy of Ministers to create law without going through parliamentary process and therefore undermines democracy and the rule of law.

Below are some of the key points of the bill that are most concerning and pose a threat to our rights and freedoms, to the democracy and sovereignty of Canada:

1. Centralization of Authority: The bill establishes a framework that concentrates significant decision-making power within federal structures, bypassing provincial or local governance which undermines the division of power under the Constitution Act 1867.
2. International Compliance: The bill includes provisions that align with global pandemic response strategies, tying Canada’s policies under the WHO and the UN.
3. Broad and Vague Language: The bill's language is too broad, leaving room for interpretation that would allow for extensive control over resources and actions during a declared health emergency. 
4. Potential Erosion of Checks and Balances: The bill outlines mechanisms for pandemic response with no parliamentary oversight or input and therefore would undermine the democratic framework of Canada.
5. Rights Impacts: The bill would grant powers to some Ministers to create regulation that undermine our rights and freedoms, such as restrictions on movement, assembly, or other rights during a declared public health emergency.

The lack of clear, parameters and defined limits on the powers granted in this bill are alarming! We must take action to KILL this Bill before it’s too late! We have put together several actions you can take NOW to stop this bill from becoming law!

3. Email the Bill sponsor, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith to tell him to rescind this Bill;

5. Talk to your friends and family to help educate them.
